Background

The Engineering Department accepted bids on July 28, 2026 for the Fire Station No. 7 Re-Roof (Project Number FAC-F-00139).  The project includes roof replacement for Fire Station No. 7.

 

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Shoemake Holdings, Inc. DBA Premiere Roofing in the amount of $242,310.  There were a total of 2,050 vendors notified of this project.  Twelve (12) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

 

If this project is not awarded, the existing roofing system will remain in service beyond its expected useful life resulting in higher maintenance costs and increased risk of failure over time.

Financial Summary/Strategic Goals

Funding for this item is budgeted in the 2026-27 Fire & Public Safety Facilities CIP.  Construction services for the Fire Station No. 7 Re-Roof project, in the total amount of $242,310, will leave a balance of $202,690 available for future expenditures.

 

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
