Background
The Engineering Department accepted bids on May 12, 2026, for Building 59 - Fire Station No. 7 - Replace Doors and Openers, Project Number FAC-F-00137. The project includes the replacement of six (6) doors and the openers in the apparatus bays which are at the end of their expected life cycle. In addition, one of the doors will have coiling grilles added behind the sectional doors to improve air flow.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Nouveau Technology Services, LP in the amount of $280,466. There were a total of 1,994 vendors notified of this project. Eight (8) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the mission of the Fire Department may be compromised as the aging doors could delay responses if a failure is experienced.
Financial Summary/Strategic Goals
Funding for this item is available in the 2025-26 Fire & Public Safety Facilities CIP. Construction services for the Fire Station No. 7 Overhead Door Replacement project, in the total amount of $280,466, will leave a current year balance of $164,784 for future
expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
