Background
The Parks and Recreation Department opened bids on August 27, 2026, for Bob Woodruff South Sidewalk Connection, Project No. PKR-P-00093. This project will install a new sidewalk from the entrance of Bob Woodruff Park South on East Park Boulevard to the East Park Boulevard Bridge, connecting the park to existing sidewalks and park trails.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by North Rock Construction & Associates LLC in the amount of $311,139.08, including all bid alternates. A total of 2,295 vendors were notified of this project. Thirty (30) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
The benefit of this sidewalk project is to improve access to and from Bob Woodruff Park South and surrounding areas. If this project is not approved, connections to existing sidewalks and trails will remain incomplete and inaccessible to the public.
Financial Summary/Strategic Goals
Funding for this item is available in the 2026-27 Park Improvements CIP. Construction services for the Bob Woodruff South Sidewalk Connection project, in the total amount of $311,139, will leave a balance of $131,861 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
