Background
Summit Avenue is a 36-foot-wide collector street connecting K Avenue and Jupiter Road within a Light Industrial zoning district. Vehicles parked along the north side of Summit Avenue limit sight distance for vehicles entering the roadway from adjacent commercial driveways and may interfere with commercial vehicle access at those driveways.
A neighborhood survey conducted by the City’s Transportation Engineering Division confirmed support for the proposed parking restriction from the affected property owners. The parking restriction is intended to address driveway visibility and maintain safe and efficient access to the adjacent properties.
The Transportation Engineering Division has evaluated these conditions and recommends prohibiting parking along the north side of Summit Avenue to improve driveway visibility and ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles accessing the adjacent properties.
