To amend Section 12-114.1, Stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles exceeding ten thousand (10,000) pounds GVW prohibited on certain streets at all times, of Article V, Stopping, Standing and Parking, of Chapter 12, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, of the City of Plano Code of Ordinances, to establish no truck parking zones along certain sections of Geomap Lane and Love All Drive between 14th Street and Contour Lane, within the city limits of the City of Plano; and providing a penalty clause, a repealer clause, a severability clause, a savings clause, a publication clause, and an effective date.

Background
Geomap Lane and Love All Drive are 36-foot-wide minor collector streets located south of 14th Street with adjacent residential and commercial properties. Large trucks have been parking overnight and for extended periods along these streets, creating safety, operational, and access concerns.
The property owner abutting these streets reported the parking concerns, and a neighborhood survey conducted by the Transportation Engineering Division confirmed neighborhood support for the proposed parking restriction. The Plano Police Department has also been contacted and supports the proposed restriction.
The Transportation Engineering Division has evaluated the location and recommends establishing No Truck Parking zones along both sides of Geomap Lane and Love All Drive to address these concerns and ensure the safe and efficient movement of pedestrians and motorists.
Financial Summary/Strategic Goals
This item has no immediate financial impact; however, some revenue may be collected as fines resulting from violation of this ordinance. The exact change in revenue is indeterminable and will have minimal impact on the General Fund budget.
