Previous Action/Presentation
On September 8, 2025, City Council adopted the Community Investment Program Budget Ordinance for the 2025-26 fiscal year, which included appropriations for the Recreation Center Renovations Fund of $3,184,284.
Background
Supplemental appropriations have been approved in the past on an as-needed basis by the City Council to address funding requirements that were not identified within previously adopted budgets and would not be prudent to delay to the next fiscal year.
This agenda item would amend the current Recreation Center Renovations Fund (Fund 21) operating appropriation for the current year by granting an additional expenditure capacity of $500,000 that would otherwise be held within the fund balance of the Recreation Center Renovations Fund (Fund 21). In this case, additional interest earnings revenues received in the Recreation Center Renovations Fund (Fund 21) from the previous fiscal year, FY 2024-25, will be used to cover the one-time costs associated with the purchase and installation of a generator at the Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center.
This funding was not planned when the current budget was adopted.
