The City Council, per Code of Ordinances Chapter 6, Article XII, Division 6, Section 6-501 Flag Regulations, may alter or waive flagpole height requirements. Flag poles are limited to fifty (50) feet. City Council may alter or waive these requirements if it is determined that such alteration is not detrimental to neighboring properties.
The Clay Cooley Kia dealership located at 3401 N Central Expressway is requesting an allowance for 2 (two) flag poles for a height of one hundred fifty (150) feet. This request is represented by Symonds Flags and Poles Inc.
DIVISION 6. - FLAGS AND FLAGPOLES
Sec. 6-501. - Flag regulations for the entire city excluding downtown sign district.
(a) Flagpoles shall be limited to a maximum height of fifty (50) feet, except that this requirement may be altered or waived if the city council determines that such alteration or waiver is not detrimental to neighboring property.
(b) A single flag which shows an emblem or logo of a firm or corporation is allowed on the premises of the firm or corporation when it is erected on a freestanding flagpole with a minimum setback of eight (8) feet behind the property line.
