Previous Action/Presentation

On September 26, 2016, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2016-9-17(R), designating the City of Plano as a HIPAA Hybrid Entity in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”).

Background

On September 26, 2016, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2016-9-17(R), designating the City of Plano as a HIPAA Hybrid Entity in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”). Staff recommended amending Resolution No. 2016-9-17(R) to remove Section II the appointment term and reference to Section 121.023 of the Texas Health and Safety Code to conform with

federal law and to update Section III to reflect the City Departments designated as health care components of the City's hybrid entity.
